What is ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a type of therapy that focuses on improving specific behaviors, such as social skills, communication, emotion and body regulation as well as adaptive learning skills, such as fine motor dexterity, hygiene, and job competence. ABA is effective for individuals with psychological disorders in a variety of settings, including schools, workplaces, homes, and clinics. Consistent ABA can significantly improve behaviors and skills and decrease the need for special services.

How are we different?
A Better Approach is focused on your family, not the insurance company. We understand that each client and their family have unique circumstances and work to deliver services with those in mind. We request hours based upon what we see is medically needed, taking into consideration the clients and caregivers school/work, other therapy services the client may be receiving, and the family goals for the client. We take pride in providing opportunities and exposure to life experiences through group outings and activities that may be too challenging for caregivers alone.

Lisha Gillespie, mother of 5, two with ASD, truly understands the hardships of being a special needs parent, she lives it every day. She provides a unique perspective of ways we can strive to provide relief, support and guidance.
Uniquely Customized to Your Needs
We understand that challenges carry over into other areas of life. Apart from the individualized treatment plan, we provide direct support and caregiver training to make all areas of life less stressful. Examples include but not limited to assisting with grocery shopping and appointments (doctor, dentist, hair, etc.).
Dedicated Staff
We are honored to hire, train, and retain qualified Registered Behavior Technicians (RBT) who have experience working with various levels of the spectrum, behaviors and individuals ranging from childhood to adulthood. Receiving weekly supervision from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) they provide skilled and quality ABA therapy with opportunities to continuously strengthen their skills.
