Services

At A Better Approach we understand that different levels of care may be required. Our goal is for all skills taught in therapy to generalize to every environment. There is no "one size fits all" method; Services are recommended based on the client's history of medical and mental health services, current skills and deficits, family need, and results of assessment.

Insurance

Forms

Individual (1:1) Therapy

Individual Therapy services are the most common form of ABA treatment. Individual therapy is 1 learner to 1 therapist, with weekly direct supervision by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. Services can be either comprehensive or focused, based upon the learners needs. We employ various, reinforcing and compassionate, therapy techniques.

School Advocacy & Shadowing

Continuous Services: Public or Private? Both! We offer school shadowing, assistance with ARD meetings, detailed IEP explanations, training & collaboration with teachers or other service providers, sharing successful therapy materials and strategies. *School shadowing requires school permission and is not common in public schools. Not all insurance providers will cover school services, check your benefits. Single Services: (see Insurance Page for fee schedule) - FIE Breakdown & Explanation - IEP Review, Explanation, Suggestions - ARD Meeting Advocacy Attendance (requires document review & parent meeting prior to ARD)

Parent Education

Parent Education/Training is so important to success that it is a requirement for treatment. The Behavior Analyst teaches caregivers to safely intervene and address behaviors that arise, or how to best teach new and complex skills throughout the clients life. We offer access to ReThink Training Modules to allow for flexibility and education on your time.

Community Skills

Generalization of skills is essential for clients and families. Whether it's making a shopping list, ordering from a menu, or waiting in line for a roller coaster, the best place to learn is in the Natural Environment! *We do not offer transportation to Community Trips, parent/caregiver accompaniment required. Summer social club: Summer Social Club is the perfect opportunity for those with ASD or other intellectual differences to get social. Activities are therapist led and set up with many opportunities for social exchanges. Groups meet in June & July, applications open in April.

Collaborative Training

Collaboration of care is a standard of our practice. We work with speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, or any other provider a client has. We invite other disciplines to teach us and learn from us.
